John Middleton After John’s first 7 year term with DTA, John left DTA to progress his career with one of the world’s biggest multinational consultancies in Dubai, where he lead the Mechanical team on numerous large-scale international projects. After several years overseas, we are happy to announce that John has returned to DTA as Associate to head up our mechanical team, his vast experience and technical skills will no doubt help DTA keep at the forefront of design in an ever changing technological world.

Further to tender award of the Prestigious and Historical Middlesbrough Town Hall refurbishment project to Kier, DTA are providing ongoing Design Consultancy Services upon this £8M refurbishment scheme which is set for completion January 2018. Stroma Level 3 and 4 Certified Energy performance Certificates are required for every commercial building whenever it is constructed, sold or let. DTA have expanded our Consultancy Services to include the provision of accredited EPC certificates due to the ever-increasing demand for energy assessments.
DTA have an exciting year ahead celebrating 30 Years of Business. DTA, which was founded in 1987 by Raymond T Davies and Rowland Tindale, has expanded from a Mechanical and Electrical Practice into a Multi Discipline Practice covering Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural and CDM-PD Services from two offices in the North East of England. Continuing our partnership with Stockton Borough Council and the recent new members of the partnership design team, DTA are assisting SBC with a number of local schemes which include extensions to local schools and proposals for carbon and energy reduction throughout a number of major buildings within the council’s portfolio.
Working with JDDK architects and Gentoo’s main site team, DTA have successfully delivered another high rise tower block refurbishment for the benefit of the residents of Gentoo. Darcy Court is the latest of over 18 high rise block refurbishments DTA have completed with Gentoo over a period of over 15 years. This block is the first high rise tower block that Gentoo have installed with a sprinkler system to each of the 104 domestic apartments of the building.
DTA have completed the main boiler refurbishment at the school, further providing energy savings to the school after the replacement of aged and inefficient heating plant. This is the latest energy efficiency scheme DTA have been involved with at the school and is helping to deliver the schools goals in reducing carbon footprint and maximising energy efficiency.
DTA have again retained our M&E Consultancy Services Partnership with the local housing group the Thirteen Group. We are looking forward to furthering the working partnership we have had for several years with Erimus Housing which is now part of the larger Thirteen Group on a number of local schemes.
DTA working with Carillion and Quartz successfully delivered a new seclusion room and other specialist areas to the refurbished Roseberry Hospital in Middlesbrough. The project was completed within the onerous timescales imposed by the Trust to suit the needs and strict working arrangements of the Trust within this occupied secure hospital.
DTA are proud to confirm that we have successfully retained our partnership agreement with Stockton Borough Council. Building our relationship upon a number of small and larger scale projects over the previous 4 year partnership period, we are looking forward to working with our local council to fulfil their aims and goals for the borough for at least a further 4 year period.
